Wanetta McGibbony

"Big Mama" McGibbony of West Point passed away on November 5, 2012 at her residence at the age of 78. She was born April 11, 1934 in Lamar County Alabama to the late Rigia Gosa and Sanders Woods. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and an avid sports fan who followed the Atlanta Braves and AL Crimson Tide, Roll Tide. Funeral services will be Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 10 AM at the Robinson Chapel in West Point with Rev. Roy Myers and Rev. Chris Craven officiating. Burial will be in Love Joy Cemetery in Alabama. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at Robinson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Millsaps, Alex Millsaps, Sam Millsaps, Wes Millsaps, Scott Andrews, Brad Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew McGibbony, Denton McGibbony, Jesse Harmon, Ann Sawtelle. There will be a visitation Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012 at Love Joy Freewill Baptist Church from 1-2 PM with a short service at 2 PM. She is survived by a son, Harrod "Mack" McGibbony (Wendy) of Reidsville, NC; daughters, Debra Lee Wray (Jerry) and Marietta Kay Craven )Randy) both of West Point; brother, Gary Neal Woods of Beaverton, AL; sisters, Lanetta Gray Woods of Beaverton, AL, Genetta Ray Easterwood of Beaverton, Al, Loretta McGarity of West Point, Barbara Louise Clarke of Jasper, AL; 13 grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren.
