A graduate of New Hope High School, he served in the US Air Force, and then graduated from MSU where he received a degree in accounting. He retired as comptroller from C. C. Clark Inc. in Starkville, MS where he was on the board of directors. Walker enjoyed his retirement years, but missed all the special people he worked with through the years. Several of them stayed in touch with him and those calls, visits were really day brighteners for him.
Walker, a Baptist, loved God, his family, his friends, farming and MSU football and basketball. One of his friends commented that if you wanted to know any statistics about MSU football, all you needed to do was ask Walker and he would tell you the players, where they played ball, their stats and where their parents worked.
We are grateful to Dr. Ed Miller, Mrs. Jeana Whitecar, RN, Mrs. Paula Miller RN, Dr. Chris Varva of Oxford, Dr .Richard Hendrick and Dr. Dan Warlick of Tupelo for the wonderful care they provided to Walker and the time they all spent explaining medical situations to family members. A special thanks also to the staff at NMMC-West Point…a really great team of caring professionals.
