Virgie Anne Koehn, 80, of Moundridge, formerly of Halstead, Kansas and West Point Mississippi, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Virgie and her husband Merle have lived at the Moundridge Manor since July of this year. She was born January 13, 1942 in Halstead, KS, the daughter of Fred J. and Anna (Ratzlaff) Nightengale.
Virgie attended Halstead High School and later graduated from Scott City High School. She was a nurse aid at Halstead Hospital and a homemaker.
Virgie was united in marriage to Merle E. Koehn on October 21, 1962 at Halstead. He survives.
Virgie and Merle attended Halstead Grace Mennonite Church when they were younger and they are current members of West Point Mennonite Church in West Point, Mississippi.
Other survivors include her son, Brian Koehn and his wife Kay of Prairie, MS; daughters, Juli Buller of Galva, KS. and Kristen Campbell of West Point, MS; grandchildren, Jesse, Brianna, Kip, Ivan, Lexie, Gretchen, Samantha, Anna, and Zack; and six great-grandchildren.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents; ten sisters; two brothers; grandson, Andrew Campbell; and son-in-law, Tim Campbell.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Family will meet with friends on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at West Point Mennonite School in West Point, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022 at West Point Mennonite School. Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
