Sherie Glusenkamp

September 19, 1956 — June 8, 2024

Sherie Lee Terry Glusenkamp, 67, passed away on June 8, 2024 at her home in West Point, Mississippi. She was born on September 19, 1956 in Delaware to the late Ernest Franklin Terry and Shirley Belle Russell.  She was raised with her siblings at the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, Mississippi.

Sherie was a 1974 graduate of Caldwell High School in Columbus. She was a homemaker while her three children were small, then went on to work at First Methodist Childcare, The People’s Bank, and eventually working in the Comptroller’s Office at Mississippi State University. She worked at Mississippi State for many years, retiring in 2018. Sherie enjoyed working and interacting with her coworkers. She loved cooking and reading and was an avid crafter – often sharing things she made with family and friends.  Her greatest source of pride and love was her family – especially her children and grandchildren.

On the day before her passing, she celebrated her 49th wedding anniversary to her husband, Scott.  They resided in West Point almost all of their married life where they were members of Calvary Baptist Church. Sherie is also survived by her son Brian Glusenkamp (Jessica), her daughter, Heather Hollingsworth (Jeremy), and her son, Matt Glusenkamp (Casey).  She dearly loved her seven grandchildren, Austin Coggins, Collin Coggins, Julianne Glusenkamp, Jake Glusenkamp, Presley Glusenkamp, Brody Glusenkamp, and Emma Blake. She treasured her loving in-laws, Kevin Glusenkamp (Trudy), Todd Glusenkamp (Leann), Karen Sullivan (Mark), Chellie Revord, Marcie Waller (Gerald), and Joyce and Jim Longanacre.  She was especially close to her in-laws, the late Ned and Diana Revord, and the late George and June Glusenkamp.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Tuesday June 11, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. James Towery officiating.  Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be held at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. Serving as pallbearers will be her two sons Brian and Matt Glusenkamp, and her four grandsons, Austin and Collin Coggins, and Jake and Brody Glusenkamp.  Honorary Pallbearers are her dear family friends, Doug and Sylvia Colvin, Kathy Adams, Burt Nix, Alton Panel, Jeremy Hollingsworth, Dr. Paul Seago, Dr. Amber Borden, and Sherie’s Gentiva nurses, Hannah and Ashley.

Memorials may be mailed to Palmer Home for Children, 800 Baldwin Rd. S., Lake Cormorant, MS 38641 or the American Cancer Society.
