Mr. Richard Albert Garley III, 75, passed away on January 26, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, Mississippi. Richard was born on October 29, 1947 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Richard & Laura Garley. He grew up on the family farm in Louisiana, before marrying his wife, Ann, in September of 1966. Richard graduated from the University of Louisiana-Monroe with a business degree in 1970. From there, he would move around the southeast while working for AT&T for the next thirty-three years. During this time, he was blessed with two children, Todd and Laurann, and the family settled in Clinton, Mississippi. After retirement, Richard focused his life on his passions, of which there were many, including his family, his faith, and sports. One of Richard’s greatest passions was his faith, and he was a very active member in his home church communities throughout his life. Along with this, he served on numerous overseas mission trips, including missions to Chile and Cuba. Richard was also a passionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always dedicated to and supportive of his family, and those that knew him will know he never met a stranger. Another one of his passions was sports, and he could often be found cheering on the Bulldogs or the Green Wave in all of their efforts. Richard was a beacon of life in the community, and an exemplar of faith and love to those around him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ann Garley, his two children Todd (Jamie) and Laurann (Bryan), brother, Larry Garley, sister, Anita Duchesne and six grandchildren Hayden, Helen Claire, JB, Ben, Henry, and Charlie.
