Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 24 at 1:00pm at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. M.L. Wallace officiating. Visitation will be from 11am until service time at Robinson Funeral Home. She was born on February 25, 1916 in West Point, Ms. to the late Lee Roy and Daisy Dexter. Ms. Ivy lived in Clay County until 2000 when she moved to Las Vegas, NV to be with her son where she resided until 2004 when she moved to Ludlow, MS to be with her daughter. The family would like to extend special thanks to Rev. M.L. and Jeanette Wallace and Caresse Slater of Ludlow, for their loving friendship and wonderful care and support they gave when needed. Also, the family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. J.A. Cloy of Jackson, the nurses and staff of Ms Home Care of Forest and the nurses of Gentiva Hospice for their outstanding, loving and personal care. Miriam was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Ivy; brothers Andrew Dexter, Tommy Dexter, Charlie Dexter, and Bill Dexter; sisters Carolyn Cox, Bessie Harman, Jane Thompson; granddaughter Cathy Adams Abernathy and great-granddaughter Sarah Adams. Survivors include a son Charles (Denise) Ivy of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Jean (Rod) Sanders of Ludlow, Ms; grandchildren Suzanne Ferry, Angie (Brent) Shorter, Jennifer (Jeremy) Moore, Jeanette Ivy, Jennifer (Ryan) Breslin, John (Becky) Hepler, Holly Hepler; great-grandchildren Sabrina Ferry, Brennon, Cayden and Kynlee Shorter, and Carolyn Moore; a daughter-in-love Caroline James of Las Vegas, NV. Serving as pallbearers are Wilber Howard, Marion Howard, John Burt Wooten, Charlie Cox, Pete Dexter, and Fred Galloway. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 North State St. Jackson, Ms 39216 or Palo Alto Cemetery Maintenance c/o Jack Elliot 9010 Hwy 47 West Point, Ms. 39773.
