James Lonnie Peeples passed away Sunday January 11, 2026 at Dugan Memorial Home at the age of 74. He was born September 17, 1951 to the late Tom Burl and Mary Zell Pollan Peeples. At the age of 18 he began working for who would become his father-in-law, Ray Robinson, at Robinson Truck Line. He and Marilyn married July 10, 1971 and had two daughters. He enjoyed driving a truck for over 30 years. He then began his own contracting company until he retired in 2021.
He loved his wife and he loved his daughters. The best memories they have consist of birthdays with plenty of cake, Christmas mornings, and the countless trips to Walt Disney World!!
He had a strong faith and was a member of First Baptist church where he taught a men’s Sunday school class for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Peeples and two daughters, Laurel Vipperman (David) of West Point and Katy Susan Allen (Eugene) of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Jetty Vipperman, Lilly Costa Vipperman, Scout Vipperman, Hannah Sprouse (Tyler) and Emily Wofford (Chandler); two great grandchildren Avery Sprouse and Reed Sprouse.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday January 14, 2026 at Robinson Chapel with Mr. Kris Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Vipperman, Eugene Allen, Jetty Vipperman, Tyler Sprouse, Chandler Wofford, Dalton Magers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brett Miller and the staff at Dugan Memorial Home. Visitation with family will be 1-2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
