1945 — July 16, 2016

Jerry Gene Tucker passed away July 16, 2016, at his home in West Point, MS after a long battle with colorectal cancer at the age of 71. He was born March 31, 1945 and reared in Webster County, MS by his grandparents J.W. and Ola Hamilton. He attended Walthall Schools and graduated from Mathiston High School. Jerry was a member of Lollars Grove Baptist Church of Eupora, MS and resided in Eupora for more than 36 years where he reared two children David and Angel Tucker. He attended Riverside Chapel Baptist Church in West Point and was a member of the Army National Guard and retired from Babcock and Wilcox a McDermott corporation after 41 years of service. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and handyman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, wood working, cooking and all around tinkering. If something was broken, he could fix it!!! He had a knack for buying, selling and trading, and loved helping others. His sense of humor was known by all, and his smile was contagious. He was known for his handshakes and big hugs. Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Sharon, his sons David (Amy), Daniel Coggins; daughters Angel Peoples (Jamie), Jessica Duncan (Ethan); grandchildren J.T. and Gracie Peoples and Savannah Tucker, sisters Gracie T. Beard (Neil), Marcy T. Daves and Joan T. Tullos (Troy), and nephew Jerry Wayne Beard (Beth Ann), great nephew, Carson (Claire) and their children, Sam and Charlie Mae; great niece, Bethany (Ty). Jerry is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.W. and Ola Hamilton; his parents, Sallie Fondren and Eric Tucker; brother, Leroy Tucker. A memorial service will be held at Robinson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2pm with Rev. Jim Sallee officiating.
