Jay Golson Jay Dee Golson died September 14, 2020 in Amory at the age of 61. He was born June 27, 1959 to the late Della Wees Coggins and Joe Golson, Jr. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. He started his career with fisher boats in 1983. From there he worked for Polorcraft, then Triton, then Ranger and Vexus, and was currently working for Avid boats. Jay was a sports enthusiast and a talented athlete as he played several sports in high school. His favorite activity was to take his grandkids fishing. He is survived by wife, Pat Golson of Amory; his sons, Harrison Golson (Maddie) of Greenville, SC, Zachary Golson (Julie) of Madison; brother, Gary Golson (Lisa) of West Point; sister, Kay White (Steve) of West Point; 3 Grandchildren, Everett Golson, Camille Golson, Elizabeth Golson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Golson. A Graveside service will 11 AM Thursday September 17, 2020 at Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Charles Coggins officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Ott, Steve Dudley, Barry White, Butch White, Kent Watson, Timbo Baird. Memorials can be made to Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery c/o Anna Ruth Sims 703 Henryville Rd Cedar Bluff, MS 39741.
