J. C. Johnson, Jr.

1949 — November 7, 2016

J. C. ‘Buddy” Johnson, Jr passed away Monday November 7, 2016 at the University Medical Center in Grenada at the age of 67. He was born January 12, 1949 in Crawford, MS to the late Yvonne Ray and J.C. Johnson, Sr. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a truck driver for many years and a well known mechanic. Memorial Service will be Thursday November 10, 2016 at 6 PM at Robinson Chapel with Minister Kevin Yoder officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryder Boswell, Barry Ryals, Kevin Yoder, Staff & Nurses at Grace Health and Rehab, members of the volunteer fire dept. unit 200. He is survived by his wife, Betty Johnson of West point; daughters, Jetaime Boswell (Ryder) of Eupora and her mother, Debra Johnson, Christy Wilson of Pheba, Tammy Langley Ryals (Barry) of West Point; step-father, Bill Blankenship of West Point; brother, Charles Johnson (Nancy) of West Point; step-brother, Mickey Blankenship of TX; 9 grandchildren, Alyson Waldrep (David), Chrissy Langley, Tanner Langley, Collin Booth, Evan Booth, Mason Booth, Grayce Tayler Booth, Corey Terry, Chris Terry; 3 great-grandchildren, Cassion Terry, Deliah Terry-Collier, Zoey Waldrep; cousin, Debbie Cox (Dave) and a close friend, Danny Ivey. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Garry Johnson; step-brother, Lane Blankenship.
