Inez Betterton passed away Sunday November 17, 2019 at Dugan Memorial Home at the age of 91. She was born September 14, 1928 to the late Dovie Alday and Theodore Elliott Holden. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church EPC in West Point. She loved entertaining and she loved Greenwave football. She was a bookkeeper for Mitchell Buick and Waverly Waters; and a seamstress for many years and could sew anything. Mrs. Inez was also known for her coconut cakes. She was called ‘Me Me’ by her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.                              

Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on November 20, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church EPC with Rev. Brandon Bates officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Murray, Jonathan Murray, Dakota Murray, David Betterton, David Holden, Larry Holden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Roberson, Robert Waller, Creed Massey, Chris Hurst, Bud Bowen, Thad Holcombe, Alex Jackson, Ricky Dill, Dugan Memorial Home Staff.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Murray (Eugene) of West Point; brother, Shelton Williams (Marilyn) of Slate Springs; grandsons, Andy Murray (Rosonna) of West Point, Jonathan Murray of Hamilton; 4 great grandchildren, Adrianne Lancaster, Christina Murray, Dakota Murray, Robert Waller (Biquiana); 6 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Betterton; twin brother, Robert Holden; brother, Elliott Holden.
