Flora Estes

Flora Mae Estes passed away Friday August 15, 2025 at her son’s residence at the age of 83. She was born February 19, 1942 to the late John Wayne Gwathney and Garvis Robertson Gwathney. She and her husband owned and operated Ivy Village Grocery Store for many years.

She is survived by her son, David Estes (Teresa) of West Point; 3 brothers, Kenneth Gwathney, Gene Gwathney, Gary Gwathney; 4 grandchildren, Layne Flanders, Corbett Estes, Crosby Miller, Carley Estes; 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert ‘Bobby’ Earl Estes, brother, Wayne Gwathney.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 42 Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

To honor her wishes and at the request of the family, a private family graveside service was held at Greenwood Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her husband.
