Evelyn Lantz

Mary Evelyn Lantz passed away Monday November 3, 2025 at her residence at the age of 84. She was born August 24, 1941 in Hickory Flat, MS to the late William Edward and Nellie Beatrice Crum Gentry. Evelyn was a legal secretary for many years for Edward, Story, Marshall and Helveston Law Office. She later worked in the Clay County Courthouse with Robbie Robinson. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and a proud member of the ‘Golden Girls’ Group. Her favorite was to have Sunday dinners with her family.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Thursday November 6, 2025 at First Baptist Church with the Mr. Scott Reed officiating. Visitation will be 9-10 AM Thursday at the church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Stewart, Lantz Stewart, Wiley Lantz, Gabe Stafford, Devin Peeks, Kindrick Langford, Caleb Stewart, Bridger Peeks, Zander Lantz.

She is survived by her husband, William ‘Bill’ Lantz; son, Eddie Lantz; daughters, Karen Stewart (Wayne), and Laura Langford (John); brother, Bill Gentry (Sandy); 6 grandchildren, Travis Stewart, Wiley Lantz, Lantz Stewart, Gentry Stafford, Kelci Jo Langford, Kindrick Langford; and 7 great grandchildren.
