Dorothy Lounez Tate of West Point, MS passed away on Sunday April 6, 2014 at NMMC- West Point at the age of 82. She was born on September 18, 1931 in Chickasaw County to the late Sally Lou Griffin and Elbert Smith. She was a self employed painter and a member of Free Praise & Worship Center. Services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Bro. Wayne Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mathew Long, Jonathan Tate, Larry Boeke, Ed Stevens, Bobby Cleitt, Preston McKee. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Vail, Thomas Allen, Dr. Andrew Wartak, Michael Merchant, Dr. Tom Braddock. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Robinson Funeral Home. She is survived by sons, Leonard F. Tate, Jr. (Barbara) of West Point, Johnny Tate (Judy) of Pheba; daughter, Frankie Sue Boeke (Ray) of West point; 10 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Leonard Tate, Sr. Memorials may be made to Sally Kate Winters Memorial Children's Home PO Box 1233 West point, MS 39773.
