Darrell Myers

Hugh Darrell Myers of West Point passed away on August 4, 2012 at his home at the age of 59. He was born July 30, 1953 in West Point to the late Bill Myers and Maycel Charles Myers. He was a former supervisor for Clay County, serving for 11 years. When serving as supervisor, Mr. Myers was on the GTPD Board and the Education Committee for the M.A.S. He was a contractor and retired dairy farmer. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 7, 2012 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church in West Point with Rev. Rick Crampton officiating. Mr. Myers will lie in state from 1 to 2 pm at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at Robinson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Aubrey Blair, David Norris, Ricky Blake, Terry Cannon, Greg Fretz, and Keith Bagwell. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends and co-workers. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Myers, Cedar Bluff, 3 daughters Ruby Puckett (Frankie); Jennifer Allen, Cedar Bluff, Christie Keenum (Lee), Cedar Bluff, 1 son Darrell Zane Myers (Annmarie), Columbus, 2 Brothers Clayton Myers, Cedar Bluff and Wayne Myers, Braatsk, Russia, 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents Bill and Maycel Myers and his Step-mother Ruby Avant Myers. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105-1942.
