Charlie Barbee

Charles Edward Barbee, known to his friends as “Charlie” passed away Saturday July 10, 2021 at NMMC-West Point at the age of 76. He was born June 10, 1945 in Westfield, IL to the late Alma Ruth Davis and Glen Edward Barbee. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a long time member of the Monday Night Steak Club. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Robinson Chapel. A private burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be J. R. Popr, Tony Pope, Chris Pope, Dayrel Hupp, Randy Simpson, John 'Brillo' Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are members of the liars club at Tin Lizzy. He is survived by his wife, Gerrie Barbee of West Point, 3 step-sons, J. R. Pope (Maria Sandown) of West Point, Tony Pope (Jackie) of Fountain, FL, Chris Pope (Trina) of Panama City Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren, Amber, Petra, Krista, J. T. and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Merle Hupp and Donna Rardin. Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
