Boyce Davis

General "Boyce" Davis, 87, passed away Thursday January 8, 2026, at his home in West Point, Mississippi, from an extended illness. Boyce was born December 18, 1938, to his parents Roy B. and Nettie P. Davis in Tupelo, Mississippi. He graduated from West Point High School and attended Mississippi State University. He served in the Army National Guard for 16 years as well as in the Korean War. He was an avid cattle buyer in the cattle industry for 62 years. His cattle farm was his sanctuary, a place to clear his mind and his heart in the course of taking care of his wife, three daughters, and the community he loved for a lifetime.

He was married to Mary Stephenson Davis for 62 years who proceeded him in death. He is survived by his three daughters Susannah Walker, Jane Smith (Ben), & Katrina Vaughn (Jimmy); brother RB Davis (Becky); sisters Fay Barber & Becky Weaver (Keith); grandchildren Brent Walker, Anna Coker (Drew), Jonathan Wray, Stephen Wray (Regan), Elizabeth Smith, Will Vaughn (Jessie), Hunter Vaughn (Nikki), & Hayden Vaughn. He also had 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Nettie Davis; his wife, Mary; and his sister Rita Carol Prisock.

The family of Boyce Davis must express sincerest thanks to the dedicated & loving members of extended care family: Eileen Hunter, his daily care attendant, Polly Tribble (Gentiva Hospice operational staff), & Keena Kaiser (Gentiva nursing staff).

Funeral services will be held at the Episcopal Church of Incarnation in West Point, Mississippi, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:45 am with funeral service at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Escorting him to the next phase of his journey will be his pallbearers: Ben Davis, Barron Davis, Drew Coker, Brent Walker, Will Vaughn, Hunter Vaughn, Hayden Vaughn, Jonathan Wray, & Stephen Wray.
