Billy Davis

Billy Jewell Davis passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence at the age of 80. He was born December 30, 1940 to the late Lora Mae Raines and Jewell Hayward Davis. He was a member of West End Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a member of the West Point Lodge #40 and a Shriner and belonged to the Tombigbee Shrine club /Hamasa of Meridian. He was owner of BJ Davis Transportation for many years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Davis of West Point; son, Timothy “Timmy” Davis of Wilson, AR; daughters, Teresa Atkins of West Point, Melissa Vest (Tim) of West Point; sister, Jill Shurden (David) of West Point; 5 grandchildren, Thomas Griffin, Carl Griffin, Katelyn Vest, Bailey Davis, Murf Davis; 4 great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Owen Hitchcock officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Griffin, Carl Griffin, Kaleb Griffin, Landon Griffin, Baily Davis, Mitch Shurden, Murf Davis. Honorary pallbearers are the nurses at NM-Hospice Care. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point, Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
